Almost 90 years ago, founder of J.R. Webb & Son (1932) Ltd, Jack Webb, went from one decorating job to the next on his trusty bicycle with a ladder securely attached to the side. Today, our trusted and proven company has one foot firmly in the past and the other striding ahead as we continue a fine tradition of Painting and Decorating.

J.R. Webb provides a premium Painting and Decorating service for a fair price. Our industry experts know how to keep your project on track and within budget. We can advise on colours and paint finishes. From drywall prep to exterior chemical washes, preparation is critical to a successful painting project. Following a careful survey, we’ll advise what steps are needed to prepare your surfaces for painting, and include this detail in our specification.

Our Team
J.R. Webb & Son (1932) Ltd are industry leaders in New Zealand with 37 trade-qualified painters. They’re all highly skilled and quality-focused individuals. Our full time-staff number around 50 people, and can expand to over 100 workers during peak months. We employ proficient painters from all over the world, as well as the best Kiwi painters, to join the J.R. Webb team.
Directors Peter Jolliffe and Jim Dennis head our company. The duo share ownership of J.R. Webb & Son (1932) Ltd. Peter’s primary responsibility is Sales and Marketing, while Jim’s focus is on Production. Together, Peter and Jim strive for the highest standards across all areas of business. Peter Jolliffe currently serves as the Chairperson for Master Painters New Zealand.
Supporting the company Directors are three Estimators, Derek, Mark and Michael. Don, Kelly and Will are our three Project Managers. Derek is a 21-year veteran of J.R. Webb. Our Project Managers are active on-site, not merely supervisors. Developing customer relationships is essential to a successful project.

Industry Connections
Sound industry connections allow us to keep abreast of new products, complementary colour schemes, paint finishes and specialist applications.
We maintain excellent relationships with the major paint suppliers in New Zealand. Well-known brands Resene, Wattyl and Dulux, are all producing paints of the highest quality. Typically, our client’s colour preference or technical specification informs our brand selection.
J.R. Webb has a special connection to Resene, who housed their first retail outlet in Auckland in our Carlton Gore Road premises, circa 1950.
We’ve been members of Master Painters for three-quarters of a century. J.R. Webb & Son (1932) Ltd Director, Peter Jolliffe, currently serves as the Chairman for Master Painters New Zealand.
